answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/07/2018 answer text <p>The Government recognises the need to support local communities in adapting to changes in the banking landscape, and is committed to improving access to financial services across both traditional and digital channels.</p><p> </p><p>The independent financial services regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), has recently released a series of publications exploring the needs of elderly and vulnerable consumers. In September 2017, the FCA published its Ageing Population Occasional Paper, which reviewed the policy implications of an ageing population and the resulting impact on financial services. In October 2017, the FCA also published its ‘Financial Lives Survey’, the first in a series of annual large scale surveys (13,000 interviews). This survey is designed to add a substantial new source of data to the regulator’s understanding of consumers in the retail financial markets. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/07/2018 answer text <p>The best long-term solution to tackling fuel poverty is to improve energy efficiency to bring the cost of heating homes down. That’s exactly what we’re doing through the Energy Company Obligation where £450 million of the £640 million per year scheme is currently directed towards low income and vulnerable households. We recently announced that we will focus the whole of the scheme on low income and vulnerable households from later this year. We also announced that we will increase the size of ‘flexible eligibility’, which enables Local Authorities to work with partners such as the health sector to determine which households are most in need of support. In addition, initially up to 10% of the scheme will be focused on innovation, bringing forward new technology that will help tackle fuel poverty over the long term.</p><p> </p><p>In order to help low income and vulnerable households with the cost of keeping warm each winter, the Warm Home Discount provides over 2 million households with a £140 rebate off their energy bill. In addition, Winter Fuel Payments provide all pensioner households, who can be some of the most vulnerable to the impacts of living in a cold home, with a payment of between £100 and £300 each winter.</p><p> </p><p>Also, the current Safeguard Tariff caps energy prices for 4 million pre-payment meter customers, and 1 million households in receipt of the Warm Home Discount, two groups who are known to be among the most vulnerable in society. The Revenue Support Grant (RSG) is the support provided to local authorities from central government to deliver various duties, including maintenance. The new legislation updates our data protection framework, and includes stronger rights for data subjects in relation to the processing of their personal data. The GDPR gives individuals the right to request that a data controller erases personal data concerning them without undue delay where the individual has withdrawn their consent. The GDPR also gives people the right to have inaccurate personal data relating to them rectified by a data controller without undue delay. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/07/2018 answer text <p>National Health Service organisations are responsible for tackling abuse of staff by patients and relatives of patients. They should have agreements in place with their local police and Crown Prosecution Service to ensure appropriate action is taken against perpetrators and they already have access to accredited security management specialists as well as advice, guidance and good practice.</p><p>The Department, in delivering the Government’s manifesto commitment to “…take vigorous and immediate action against those who abuse or attack the people who work for and make our NHS” commissioned NHS Improvement to work with NHS England on new central support arrangements to help NHS organisations protect their staff from abuse. The Department expects their recommendations soon. These are likely to include the need for Board level leadership to oversee the recording of and dealing with incidents; ‘de-escalation’ training, development and support for staff; creating environments that reduce the likelihood of abuse; raising public awareness and a new collection of data on assaults and abuse.</p><p>The Department announced that paramedics will be given body cameras to protect them from abuse. This scheme will be piloted in North East and South East Coast Ambulance Services before being rolled out.</p><p>The Government is also supporting the hon. Member for Rhondda’s (Chris Bryant) Assaults on Emergency Workers (Offences) Bill that will make assaults against and abuse of ‘emergency workers’ across all public services an aggravated offence. Overall, eight in ten (79 per cent) claimants said they found the journal easy to use, while three quarters (75 per cent) said it was a useful way to keep a record of their progress. A similar proportion (74 per cent) said the journal was a useful way to communicate with their work coach, while 68 per cent said they use it to keep evidence of their job seeking or work preparation activity.</p><p> </p><p>As part of our test and learn approach to Universal Credit, we update and improve the full service every two weeks, for example, a recent update gave claimants the ability to apply for an advance through their online account. That includes ensuring that people understand what information about them is being processed and why, and respecting their rights to access and erase their data, where appropriate.
