answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/10/2018 answer text <p>Section 6 of the Health and safety at Work etc. Act 1974 places duties on any person who designs, manufacturers, imports or supplies any article for use at work to ensure that it will be safe and without risks to health. In general this applies to all devices used in the workplace but there are exceptions, such as medical devices, which are regulated by specific regulations that set out more detailed duties.</p><p> </p><p>The Medical Devices Regulations 2002 deal with the design, manufacture, import or supply of medical devices, including those which may contain computers/software. It is for the designer, manufacturer, importer or supplier to demonstrate that their product is safe. These regulations transpose the requirements of the following European Directives concerning product safety for medical devices:</p><p> </p><ul><li>Council Directive 90/385/EEC on Active Implantable Medical Devices (AIMDD)(1990)</li><li>Council Directive 93/42/EEC on Medical Devices (MDD)(1993)</li><li>Council Directive 98/79/EC on In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Devices (IVDMD)(1998)</li></ul><p>The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Authority (MHRA) regulates medical devices in the UK. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/09/2018 answer text <p>(a) From June 2016 (when Persons of Significant Control criminal offences came into force) to September 2018 criminal proceedings have been issued against 99 individuals (directors) and 89 companies.</p><p> </p><p>(b) 5 individuals have been convicted - 4 convictions were for offences contrary to section 790VA Companies Act 2006 (failing to update Companies House with details of relevant entries to a company’s PSC Register.) answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/07/2018 answer text <p>In those areas where decent broadband is not available, we are introducing a broadband Universal Service Obligation so that by 2020 everyone across the UK will have a clear, enforceable right to request high speed broadband of at least 10 Megabits per second. We will keep the speed and quality parameters under review to make sure that it keeps pace with consumers' evolving needs.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>In addition, the Government’s ambition is for full fibre to 15 million premises by 2025 and nationwide coverage by 2033. On 23 July, the Government published its Future Telecoms Infrastructure Review, setting out approach to achieving our targets by promoting competition and commercial investment.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Government is also investing in full fibre connectivity through our £280 million Local Full Fibre Networks programme.
