answer text <p>Public Health England (PHE) came into existence on 1 April 2013. Since then PHE has developed a dedicated public mental health programme. In the current financial year, 2014-15, its direct investment in mental health equates to about 1% of PHE’s total £400 million spend, approximately £4 million.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Health Education England (HEE) does not routinely analyse its budget by specialty. However, using information provided for financial planning purposes, it has estimated that 8% of its total expenditure specifically relates to mental health. This may be an underestimate as there are elements of HEE’s expenditure that relate to mental health that cannot be disaggregated from total spending.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this
