answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/03/2017 answer text <p>Although the Home Office provides for exceptions to the need to pay application fees in a number of specific circumstances, these exceptions do not extend to those seeking confirmation of status, such as those who apply to transfer their existing status to a biometric residence permit. If we were to waive fees on this basis, it would result in a reduction in income that would have to be made up through charging other customers higher fees. We believe this would be unfair. The exceptions ensure that the Home Office’s immigration and nationality fee structure complies with international obligations (for example, in relation to refugees and persons deriving rights under European law) and wider government policy. .</p><p> </p><p>The Home Office does not receive or hold data on the number of people who hold an expired travel document with a valid visa but need to provide</p><p>acceptable evidence of their right to work to a new employer. In these circumstances the individual is required to apply to the Home Office to transfer their conditions, as a result of which they will receive a biometric residence permit. While the Home Office is processing the application it provides a checking service for employers to verify someone’s right to work so that the ability to start work is not impeded. In accordance with the Data Protection Act, figures on the length of each sickness absence cannot be published.</p><p> </p><p>NOMS is committed to providing safe, decent and secure places of work and takes the health, safety and wellbeing of its employees extremely seriously. The Ministry of Justice is investing an extra £100m annually to boost the frontline by 2,500 officers.</p><p> </p><p>NOMS also recognises that the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of employees is paramount to attracting and retaining staff that will build a strong and capable organisation. All NOMS staff have access to an occupational health service and employee assistance programme. This includes 24 hour, 365 days a year access to signposting and counselling; trauma support services; a wide ranging health promotion website and personal wellbeing zone.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, counselling is available to staff who have experienced trauma. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/03/2017 answer text <p>We are committed to delivering long term, sustainable improvements to the children’s social care system. <em>Putting Children First: Delivering our vision for excellent children’s social care </em>(July 2016) sets out the government’s reform programme for children’s social care in England for the next five years.</p><p> </p><p>The government recognises the life changing impact domestic abuse can have on the lives of children. That is why we have expanded the Troubled Families Programme until 2020 to work with an additional 400,000 families, including those affected by domestic abuse.</p><p> </p><p>The government’s <em>Violence Against Women Strategy</em> (April 2016), stresses the importance of taking an integrated whole-family approach to addressing and stopping violence and abuse. The government has provided £2m in funding to support new models developed by Safelives and Women’s Aid to identify and support victims and their families at an earlier stage and provide effective wrap-around support.</p><p> </p><p>The Department for Education is funding four grants, totalling around £900,000, from 2016 to March 2018 to Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) organisations working on issues concerning domestic abuse.
