During my recent visit to Brazil, I raised the UK’s commitment to environmental protection and offered support to Brazil in the transition to renewable energy and a lower carbon economy.</p><p> </p><p>We are working in partnership with Brazil and through UK Government-led programmes, investing over £150 million of climate finance in forest programmes across the country.</p><p> </p><p>I was delighted that on my return from Brazil in August, the PM announced an extra £10 million in the aftermath of recent fires.</p> more like this

answer text <p>On 24 July 2018, Government published “Strengthened Local Enterprise Partnerships” which sets out how Government and LEPs will work together to strengthen leadership and capability, improve accountability and manage risk, and provide clarity on geography.</p><p>Of the £3.4bn of Local Growth Funding that has gone to the Northern Powerhouse, £505.6m has been allocated by the North East and Tees Valley LEPs.</p><p>LEPs will also play a vital collaborative role in the successful delivery of £3.6bn Towns Fund- seven places in the wider North East have been named among the initial 100 places to benefit from this fund, including Bishop Auckland in County Durham.</p> more like this
