answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/01/2019 answer text <p>The UK is playing a leading role in combating hunger in Yemen through our £170 million in aid this financial year.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We channel UK funds through UN agencies and international NGOs with a strong record of delivering and monitoring assistance. These organisations do everything they can under the most difficult circumstances to negotiate access including in areas of active conflict so that aid does get to those who need it most.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Through the World Food Programme this year the UK is providing cash and vouchers to feed the equivalent of 4 million people for a month. On 16 January, the UN Security Council, including the US, voted unanimously to back the UK-led Security Council Resolution 2452, which will establish a six month UN mission to monitor the Hodeidah ceasefire. This is an important step towards peace, building on the momentum of the unanimously adopted UK-led Security Council Resolution 2451 as well as the UN peace talks in Stockholm last month. This will complement UK diplomatic support for the UN, including through UK-led Security Council Resolutions 2451 and 2452, which build on the momentum generated by UN peace talks in Stockholm in December. We continue to discuss with the UN what further support the UK could provide as UN planning develops. UK and French ministers have spoken about the issue of Channel crossings on a number of occasions, and senior level engagement is ongoing to develop a joint approach to the issue. The Home Secretary is due to meet his French counterpart in the coming weeks. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/01/2019 answer text <p>The British Government is committed to tackling unmanaged migration through concerted interventions at every stage of the migrant journey to address root causes, tackle criminality and trafficking, increase awareness of the risks of undertaking perilous journeys, and strengthen borders and returns processes.</p><p>I met Moroccan Deputy Foreign Minister, Mounia Boucetta, during the Intergovernmental Conference to endorse the Global Compact for Migration in Marrakech in December. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/01/2019 answer text <p>Over 500 migrants, the majority of whom are Iranian nationals, attempted to travel to the UK on small vessels in 2018. The vast majority of those attempts were made in the last three months of the year.</p><p>All asylum claims made in the UK are processed, managed and decided in line with Home Office policy, guidance and relevant case law and legislation. This supports an efficient and effective asylum process for the UK and ensures that asylum claims are handled in a manner that is appropriate to the individual, including ensuring any reasonable adjustments and safe-guarding needs are considered.</p><p>All asylum claimants must be treated with dignity and fairness regardless of their age, disability, ethnicity, nationality, race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion or belief.</p><p>An asylum claim will be registered where an individual makes a particularised protection claim for the first time, in person and in their own right. That does not mean that the UK will always be responsible for making a substantive decision.</p><p>As part of that process, there is a need to assess whether what a person is saying amounts to a protection claim and if so, whether the claim is admissible to the decision-making process.
