answer text <p>The commitment to spend 2% of GDP on Defence came after a thorough examination of threats and risks, after which the Government decided on an appropriate level of funding. The 2% commitment should be seen as a base and not a target.</p><p>The Government are committed to spending 2% of GDP on Defence until 2022. Commitments on Defence spending beyond this point will be laid out in future Spending Reviews.</p> more like this
