answer text <p>The Government remains committed to Levelling Up and is actively engaging with companies to secure investments that will ensure the UK remains a world leader in automotive manufacturing.</p><p> </p><p>We continue to work through the Automotive Transition Fund (ATF) to progress plans to build a globally competitive electric vehicle supply chain in the UK, which includes unlocking private investment in gigafactories, battery material supply chains, motors, power electronics, and fuel cell systems.</p><p> </p><p>We have invested record sums in battery R&amp;D – last October we announced a record £211 million uplift for the Faraday Battery Challenge, which brought the overall budget of this ambitious programme to £541 million. We recently awarded £27.6 million from this funding to 17 UK projects to support innovation in EV battery technology.</p> more like this

answer text <p><strong> </strong></p><p>The next Cycling and Walking report to Parliament, due to be published in spring 2022, will contain details of all of the funding that the Government has provided for active travel schemes, including cycle lanes, to each local authority in each year. This is complex as the funding comes from several different funding streams, making a short summary difficult. Some of the information, such as a breakdown of how much capital funding was provided to each local authority for active travel schemes in 2020/21 under the Active Travel Fund, is already available on gov.uk. answer text <p>The EU and UK have both said that EU rules and regulations should continue to apply during the implementation period.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>During this strictly time-limited implementation period, the UK and the EU would continue to have access to one another’s markets on current terms, and the UK would take part in existing security measures.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>In the Implementation Period, the UK will take steps to pave the way for the UK’s independent trade policy after we exit. As such, we will be able to negotiate our own free trade agreements, although we would not bring them into effect until after the implementation period has concluded.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The government is committed to seeking continuity during the Implementation Period in its current trade and investment relationships, including those covered by EU Free Trade Agreements or other EU preferential arrangements.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The safeguarding strategy for unaccompanied asylum seeking and refugee children will be published by 1 May 2017. It will set out further detail on how these children should be safeguarded and have their welfare promoted. In developing the strategy, the Government has committed to review the information currently provided to asylum seeking and refugee children about their rights, their current circumstances, and the role of local authorities in caring for them. We have also said that we will regularly review the funding provided to support and care for unaccompanied asylum seeking and refugee children, working closely with the Local Government Association and local authorities.</p> more like this
