<p>The Government is committed to ongoing cooperation with the EU on security, law
enforcement and criminal justice. That is why we are seeking a new, coherent and legally
binding agreement on internal security which preserves mutually beneficial operational
capabilities whilst allowing the UK and EU to continue to work together to combat
fast evolving security threats.</p><p>The Government’s July White Paper outlines that
our proposed Security Partnership should cover the breadth of the shared security
interests of the UK and the EU, including protecting mutually beneficial security,
law enforcement and criminal justice operational capabilities such as mechanisms for
rapid and secure data exchange.</p>
