The Government works closely together with regulators, the financial services industry and other stakeholders, to ensure that all consumers of financial services are appropriately protected.</p><p> </p><p>In February 2021, the FCA published its finalised guidance for firms on the fair treatment of vulnerable customers, setting out a number of areas of best practice. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/12/2022 answer text <p>We are clear that no one should be refused access to businesses or services, including shops or venues, because they legitimately have an assistance dog.</p><p>Under the Equality Act 2010 (the Act), businesses that provide goods and services to the public must not unlawfully discriminate against people who meet the Act’s definition of disability. The Act places a duty on service providers to make reasonable adjustments to improve access to premises, buildings and services.</p><p>This duty could include allowing access to guide dogs or assistance dogs so that disabled customers have the same access to goods and services and are not placed at a substantial disadvantage compared to non-disabled customers. Failure to comply with this duty could amount to unlawful disability discrimination.</p><p>The Equality and Human Rights Commission has published guidance for all businesses, including service providers, on their duty towards disabled people who own assistance/guide dogs. The guidance explains that assistance dogs should be treated as auxiliary aids and not as pets. This includes commissioning analysis on how the health needs of children and young people with special education needs and disabilities can be met through effective workforce planning.</p><p> </p><p>All National Health Service organisations are legally required to follow the Accessible Information Standard to meet the communication needs of patients and carers with a disability, impairment or sensory loss, including children with additional needs. NHS England is currently reviewing the Accessible Information Standard to ensure it is fit for purpose and expects the updated standard and supporting documents to be published in early 2023.</p><p> </p><p>NHS England is also working with NHS Digital to develop a ‘digital flag’ for reasonable adjustments in patient health records to ensure that NHS staff can tailor the support provided to the person’s specific needs. We will publish a strategy setting out how we will do this shortly.</p><p>Fraud has been brought into scope of the Online Safety Bill to make tech firms responsible for protecting their customers from fraud. There has never been a successful ISDS claim brought against the United Kingdom.</p><p> </p><p>Negotiations have recently been completed to modernise the investment protection and dispute settlement provisions in the ECT. This modernisation seeks to provide greater clarity on the standards of protection afforded to investors and reduce the scope for claims which lack legal merit.
