answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/12/2023 answer text <p>The demand on National Health Service mental health services has risen significantly as the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and the rise in the cost of living on people’s mental health continue to be felt. This means that some people including unpaid carers are facing waiting times that are longer than we would like. The NHS is working to ensure that help is available for people as early as possible.</p><p>The NHS Long Term Plan commits to investing £2.3 billion extra funding a year in expanding and transforming mental health services by March 2024, enabling an extra two million people, including unpaid carers, to be treated by NHS mental health services, including Talking Therapies. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/05/2021 answer text <p>Modelling the cost of increasing the base rate to £4,760 for 16-19 funding allocations for 2020-21 would require consideration of various factors, such as, the forecast of expected student numbers across age ranges, the characteristics of those students, the courses undertaken, the effect of lagged funding and the impact of the policy change required. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 31/10/2019 answer text <p>The government’s aim is to increase local government’s retention of business rates from 50 per cent to 75 per cent in 2021-22. However, we recognise that redistribution of business rates between local authorities will continue to be necessary where locally retained business rates do not meet their needs.</p><p>We have listened to calls for a simpler, up-to-date, evidence-based funding formula and we will aim to deliver this alongside an increase in business rates retention.
