Palliative and end of life care services are commissioned by clinical commissioning groups (CCGs), which are responsible for planning and commissioning high-quality, cost-effective services to meet the needs of local populations.</p><p> </p><p>Most hospices are independent, charitable organisations which receive some statutory funding for providing these services.
