answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/03/2019 answer text <p>On 5th March 2019, the Secretary of State announced in a Written Ministerial Statement that we intend to extend the HDAS Contract to enable the move to an integrated assessment service.</p><p>Contract extension negotiations are now underway with the Incumbent provider, <br>the Centre for Health and Disability Assessments, a subsidiary of Maximus. The value, terms and performance targets of the extension period are still to be determined.</p><p>We do not intend to make material changes to the contracts. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/12/2018 answer text <p>When fully rolled out, Universal Credit will support low income households with around £62 billion a year across the whole of Great Britain.</p><p> </p><p>More people who are severely disabled will receive higher payments under Universal Credit. The rate in Universal Credit for these claimants is higher at £326 per month (up from £158 per month on the equivalent ESA Support Group). The managed migration regulations, which are currently before Parliament, includes transitional protections to ensure that no one loses out at the point of transition.</p><p> </p><p>This means that around 1 million disabled households will gain on average around £100 more per month on Universal Credit, than on legacy benefits. Within the legacy system there are £2.4bn of unclaimed benefits not taken up by people who need them, because they do not know about them. The government supports people with disabilities through both the welfare system and through public services. We spend over £50bn on benefits to support disabled people and people with health conditions which accounts for over 6% of Government spending. Spending on disability benefits will be higher every year to 2022 than in 2010.</p><p> </p><p>Since 2010, the Treasury has regularly published cumulative analysis of the impacts of tax, welfare and public spending policies on households according to their income.
