The UK continues to be able to support the delivery of public services in Afghanistan,
despite the challenging context. Through our Supporting Afghanistan's Basic Services
programme, our NGO partners have delivered services in health, education and livelihoods.
Through the World Bank's Afghanistan Resilience Trust Fund (ARTF), the FCDO contributed
to supporting 135,680 children (92,262 girls) to access education between September
2022 and May 2023. We work with key international partners to understand the status
of the delivery of public services, for example through the World Bank's regular economic
monitoring and welfare surveys.
