answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/02/2019 answer text <p>The UK is home to some of the highest animal welfare standards in the world and we hope that UK citizens continue to respect these standards when they travel abroad.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has been working with the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) to encourage them to make their customers aware of the reported issues around Asian elephants. It has been clear that if someone can move to a regional centre and has the skills it needs or is able to develop them, there will be a role for them.</p><p> </p><p>The HMRC office at Ealing, International House, is scheduled to close in 2020-21 under HMRC’s location strategy. The number of staff in the office who may be at risk of redundancy will not be known until the completion and outcome of one to one conversations between staff and their managers and the result from the independent decision maker. It has been clear that if someone can move to a regional centre and has the skills it needs or is able to develop them, there will be a role for them.</p><p> </p><p>For International House, Ealing, current planning data shows that around 107 full-time equivalent people or 52% will transfer to a HMRC regional centre.</p><p> </p><p>HMRC expects that once Crossrail becomes operational, with journey times from Ealing to Stratford of around 30 minutes, this number will increase.</p><p> </p><p>However, HMRC cannot be certain about how many will actually be able to move to a regional centre or the numbers who may complete their career at International House until one-to-one discussions have taken place. The overall number of post offices across the UK remains at its most stable in decades with over 11,500 branches thanks to significant Government investment of over £2 billion since 2010.</p><p>I have been informed that Acton Post Office has closed as the site is being redeveloped and that unfortunately the Post Office has not been able to establish an alternative service so far. As this is an operational matter for the Post Office I have asked Paula Vennells, the Group Chief Executive of Post Office Limited, to write to you on this matter setting out what steps the Post Office is doing to restore the service as soon as possible.
