<p>The UK is pressing the Burmese and Bangladeshi governments to work together to create the conditions for the safe, voluntary and dignified return of the Rohingya to Burma. The Foreign Secretary intends to visit Burma and convene a meeting at the UN General Assembly to galvanise international support for this process. In their conversation on 17 August, I called on Burma's Minister for International Cooperation to ensure that UNDP and UNHCR representatives are given unfettered access to northern Rakhine – a key element of the agreement reached by Burma and the UN in June.</p>
