answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/09/2018 answer text <p>The Government Buying Standards for food and catering services (GBSF) are mandatory for central Government and the NHS, and encouraged in the wider public sector, including schools and other educational establishments. The standards require that all meat and other animal derived products served must have been produced in compliance with UK legal standards for animal welfare.</p><p> </p><p>The Government’s balanced scorecard methodology for assessing the value of contract bids, which compliments the GBSF, rewards suppliers who provide produce, products or services which exceed minimum requirements. It includes award criteria for businesses which supply meat raised using enhanced welfare methods. The balanced scorecard is also mandatory for use in central Government departments, and encouraged for use in the broader public sector. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/05/2018 answer text <p>The direct acting European Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 on the Classification, Labelling and Packaging of substances and mixtures – the CLP Regulation - and Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004 on detergents - the Detergents Regulation – both require information on hazards and safe use to be displayed on the labels of domestic cleaning products that are imported into the UK.</p><p> </p><p>The CLP Regulation also requires that where consumers can purchase a substance or mixture placed on the EU market without seeing the label first, such as online, then the advertisement for it must mention the types of hazard indicated on the label. On online sales, the Health and Safety Executive works closely with Local Authority Trading Standards Officers, other national enforcing authorities and with online platforms to remove online products from sale in the UK/EU that do not comply with legal requirements.</p><p> </p><p>Enforcement of labelling requirements under the Detergents Regulations falls to Trading Standards Services within Local Authorities. The MAC’s call for evidence sought information on EU migrants’ skills, amongst other things, and this will be considered in their final report due in September 2018. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/09/2017 answer text <p>The Government has received many representations from social care providers about the implications of being required to pay penalties or arrears relating to underpayment of the National Minimum Wage. The Government will waive the financial penalties faced by employers who are found to have underpaid their workers for “sleep-in” shifts. The waiver is to apply to any arrears of pay resulting from “sleep-in” shifts that took place before 26 July 2017.</p><p>The Government will continue to work with representatives of the social care sector to see how it might be possible to minimise any impact on provision of social care as a result of this situation. To allow this work to take place before deadlines of arrears of wages are enforced, the Government has adopted a policy of temporarily suspending enforcement activity of “sleep-in” shifts. The Government is tackling pay gaps by requiring large employers, including the public sector, to publish their gender pay gap and gender bonus gap. In addition, we are exploring options for introducing other forms of pay gap reporting.</p><p> </p><p>Furthermore, the government is offering 30 hours of free childcare for working families with 3 and 4 year-olds, has extended the right to request flexible working to all employees and introduced shared parental leave.
