answer text <p>The figure of £235,668 provided in my answer of 9 January 2017 for total expenditure spent on providing educational training to the Burmese Army as at 21 December was given in error. The correct figure is £305,499.00; the original answer failed to include the costs of a single Defence Academy course delivered during the period. Of the total spend of £305,499 approximately 67% was ODA expenditure</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Prime Minister’s Office is an integral part of the Cabinet Office and is included in this reply.</p><p>The redeployment pool in the Cabinet Office ceased to exist in 2012 so there are no civil servants in a redeployment pool in this Department.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The UK assesses the requirement and the risks involved in the provision of any lethal equipment to third parties. We have only gifted weapons and ammunition to the Kurdish Regional Government for use by their forces in the fight against Daesh. The export process includes a certificate which states clearly who the end user will be. We are content with the controls the Kurdish Regional Government have in place for distribution of UK-supplied weaponry, and with the assurances we have received from them.</p> more like this

answer text <p>We raised the case of the Professor Ilham Tohti and other human rights defenders with the Chinese authorities at the UK-China Human Rights Dialogue on 27 October, the opening of which I attended. We called upon the Chinese authorities to release Professor Ilham Tohti and those in detention for peacefully expressing their views. We also called for human rights activists detained in China to have their civil and political rights protected, in accordance with China's constitution and international human right commitments.</p> more like this
