There is a focus on ensuring the curriculum provides children and young people with knowledge on internet safety. The computing curriculum ensures that pupils are responsible and competent users of information and communication technology. This autumn, the National Centre of Computing Education will be launched, which will support the teaching of computing.</p><p> </p><p>The Department is also making Relationships Education compulsory in all primary schools, Relationships and Sex Education compulsory in all secondary schools and Health Education compulsory in all state-funded schools.</p><p>The Department is currently consulting on the draft regulations that will make the subjects compulsory, as well as the accompanying guidance: <a href="https://consult.education.gov.uk/pshe/relationships-education-rse-health-education/" target="_blank">https://consult.education.gov.uk/pshe/relationships-education-rse-health-education/</a>.</p><p> </p><p>The draft guidance sets out that teaching about internet safety, including the benefits and risks of social media, should be integrated into these subjects. The draft guidance also provides examples of resources from reputable organisations that can be used by schools and any other organisation working with children and young people. For example, the UK Council for Child Internet Safety recently published “The Education for a Connected World framework” which describes the digital knowledge and skills that children and young people should have the opportunity to develop at different ages and stages of their lives. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/07/2018 answer text <p>The Nuffield Trust report, ‘The NHS at 70: How good is the NHS?’, as well as highlighting some of the major strengths of the National Health Service - including its efficiency, its management of some long-term conditions like diabetes and kidney diseases and the unusually good financial protection it provides the public from the consequences of ill health – also drew attention to strokes, cancer and heart attacks, as areas where improvements could be made.</p><p> </p><p>The NHS is working to organise acute stroke care to ensure all stroke patients have access to high quality care. Centralising stroke care into a smaller number of larger units ensures specialists are available to manage patients at all times, and provides immediate access to imaging and other investigatory facilities. NHS England is also working with all 24 specialised neuroscience centres in England to continue to roll out and expand the new thrombectomy service.</p><p> </p><p>Cancer is a priority for this Government and survival rates are at a record high, with rates increasing year-on-year since 2010. Around 7,000 people are alive today who would not have been had mortality rates stayed the same as in 2010. We are half way through a five-year programme to transform cancer services and remain on track to deliver on all 96 recommendations of the independent Cancer Taskforce in the Cancer Strategy for England.</p><p> </p><p>Cardiovascular disease (CVD) prevention is a key theme in NHS England’s Five Year Forward View and their NHS RightCare programme, and addressing variations in outcomes from CVD is one of Public Health England’s (PHE) top priorities. In September 2017, NHS England and PHE announced a new drive to prevent heart attacks and strokes and save thousands of lives by taking a more integrated approach to cardiovascular care, urging sustainability and transformation partnerships (STPs) to take coordinated action to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment of these life-threatening conditions. The majority of STPs have identified prevention of CVD as a priority.</p><p> </p><p>Additionally, in 2017-18, PHE updated the Heart Age tool, which helps people work out their heart age and risk of heart attack and stroke. NHS England has a process for this for specialised services and each clinical commissioning group will have their own process for more standard services. There are a number of tools that clinicians may employ to support decision making in this regard, such as the Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Prognostic Indicator Guidance, which a clinician may use to assess whether a patient is in the last 12 months of life, to enable them to put in the necessary support that patient may need.</p><p> </p><p>The GSF was originally developed in 2000 as a grass roots initiative to improve primary palliative care from within primary care. Following a pilot in 2001, its usage was spread through a national programme supported by the National Health Service, Macmillan and the Department. The Prognostic Indicator Guidance provides useful prompts or ‘triggers’ to a healthcare professional that discussions about the end of life should be initiated, if this has not already happened. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/07/2018 answer text <p>Research shows that many people come onto Universal Credit with pre-existing rent arrears.</p><p>We also know that arrears are usually temporary and the majority of claimants do succeed in paying their rent, managing their monthly payments and clearing their arrears over time. In our research, the proportion of Universal Credit claimants who were in arrears at the start of their claim fell by a third after four months.</p><p>We have made changes to help people financially until their first payment. Advances are available to provide financial support and these can now be repaid over a course of 12 months and can consist of up to 100 per cent of the indicative monthly award.
