The commemorations remembered the fifteen German lives lost as a result of the scuttling of the German High Seas Fleet on 21 June 1919.</p><p>Ceremonial dives were conducted by Royal Navy and German Navy divers to place wreaths on SMS DRESDEN. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/12/2018 answer text <p>For the past four years of the First World War centenary, we have supported a number of projects that have highlighted the contribution of the Chinese Labour Corps. We supported the ‘Unremembered Project’, which recognised the contribution made by labour corps from across Asia, Africa and the Caribbean, and this included a focus on the Chinese Labour Corps. We also supported the Meridian Society to work in schools and communities to highlight the almost 100,000 men recruited by Britain to provide essential logistical support in Europe. Currently, we are also supporting the <a href="http://ensuringweremember.org.uk/" target="_blank"> ‘Ensuring We Remember</a> ’ campaign, to create a permanent memorial in central London, to be unveiled in 2019. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/11/2018 answer text <p>The Department has invested an extra £1.3 billion into core schools funding across 2018-19 and 2019-20, which is an increase from the plans set out in the last Spending Review. Core funding for schools and high needs has risen from almost £41 billion in 2017-18 to £42.4 billion this year and will rise further to £43.5 billion in 2019-20. The Department allows head teachers to use their funding in a way they feel achieves the best outcomes for pupils.</p><p> </p><p>From 2013 to March 2019, the Department is providing £5.3 million for pupils and teachers from state-funded secondary schools in England to participate in battlefield tours of the Western Front. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/05/2018 answer text <p>The final year of the Government's four year programme to commemorate the centenary of the First World War will see a series of events to commemorate the end of the War, and the path to peace. On Monday 26 March an event was held to commemorate the centenary of the appointment of Marshal Foch as Supreme Allied Commander on the Western Front, at the statue of the Marshal in Lower Grosvenor Gardens. It was attended by the French Ambassador, and the French Minister of State for Veterans and Remembrance.</p><p> </p><p>On 8 August we will commemorate the centenary of the the Battle of Amiens and the subsequent 'Hundred Days' Offensive with an event for 2,000 guests in Amiens Cathedral in Northern France. It is being delivered in partnership with the governments of Australia, Canada, France and the United States of America.</p><p> </p><p>The government’s programme of centenary events will culminate on 11 November 2018 with a series of events across the UK to mark the centenary of the Armistice. The National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph will follow traditional lines, to respect its wider purpose in remembering the fallen of all conflicts. The traditional veterans’ parade will then be followed by a civilian procession made up of 10,000 members of the public who wish to show their thanks to a generation who gave so much for the freedoms we enjoy today. An announcement regarding the public ballot for tickets to participate in this procession will be made shortly. During the day, church and other bells will ring out as they did in 1918 to mark the end of the war.</p><p> </p><p>The commemorations will conclude in the evening with a national service of thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey in London. Similar services will also take place in Glasgow, Cardiff and Belfast.</p><p> </p><p>In addition to the national events, the other elements of government programme, such as the Schools' Battlefields Tours, the schools 'Great War Debates', the Victoria Cross Paving Stones, and funding for the repair and restoration of War Memorials will continue, to ensure that the final year of the War and the Armistice are commemorated appropriately. Historic England will also continue to research and conserve not only war memorials and historic buildings, but trenches and other fieldworks constructed during the war for training purposes, to make sure that our history can be enjoyed by present and future generations. Two of these, the practise trenches at Short Fell, Northumberland, and the earthwork model training trenches at Cannock Chase, Staffordshire, have been added to the National Heritage List for England. These have commemorated the Gallipoli Campaign, the battles of Jutland, the Somme and Passchendaele, and a variety of events to be delivered in 2018. All of the events have included female voices, and have reflected the roles played by women and the impact of the war on women.</p><p> </p><p>The Government’s wider programme is designed to support communities and organisations in telling stories of greatest relevance to them through commemorative events, exhibitions and other projects. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/04/2018 answer text <p>In the last Parliament, The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy worked with the All Party Parliamentary Group on Recognition for Munitions Workers to explore ways to ensure that the collective efforts of all those who worked in munitions factories were not forgotten. This included several positive steps such as the march past of former munitions workers in the Remembrance Sunday parade in 2012.
