answer text <p>Following the re-introduction of the ‘red list’ on 26 November 2021, passengers spent £15.2 million on quarantine services. There are no refunds or financial compensation for guests who completed their quarantine period and had checked out of the quarantine hotel on or before 4am on 15 December. From 4pm on 15 December, guests with a negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) result and those who had not yet taken a PCR test were able to depart quarantine following the removal of all countries from the ‘red list’. In England, guests who were released early from managed quarantine are entitled to a refund for the unused part of their managed quarantine.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has risk assessed international arrival journeys and advised the Managed Quarantine Service (MQS) on what mitigations to apply. The Standard Operating Procedures for MQS facilities have been implemented to reduce the risk of COVID-19 variants and infections. Each MQS supplier adheres to requirements set out in their contractual obligations in relation to infection control guidelines. The UKHSA also undertakes regular reviews with stakeholders to reduce the risk of infection for staff, guests and the public. The UKHSA also undertake regular staff testing and assist incident management teams to address any infection outbreaks.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Arrangements were made for guests in managed quarantine to leave at the earliest opportunity in line with appropriate COVID-19 safe protocols from 15 December.</p><p>Guests who tested positive, those who are unvaccinated, and those who were notified they had been a contact of someone who had tested positive were required to remain in quarantine. This aligns with domestic self isolation requirements.</p> more like this

During the period there was a decrease in number of destinations on the ‘red list’, therefore the number of hotel rooms for quarantine was reduced to reflect the lower demand from passengers and deliver better value for money.</p> more like this

CTM also provides a call centre for travellers having difficulty or need additional assistance in making their booking.</p><p>For those who will suffer severe financial hardship as a result of paying for the full cost of managed quarantine in advance, hardship arrangements may be available.
