In Kent our work with the Local Resilience Forum has helped deliver Operation Brock, the locally owned and activated plan that will manage traffic disruption in Kent</p><p> </p><p>We are conducting a comprehensive multi-channel campaign to improve trader readiness. We produced a Haulier Handbook in conjunction with industry which has been delivered to 82,000 UK hauliers and managers. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/07/2019 answer text <p>Rail, Bus and Coach and Motoring</p><p>The real terms changes in percentage costs for years 1997, 2010 and 2015 were calculated using the components of Retail Price Index (RPI) from the ‘RPI All Items Index 1987=100’ available from the Office for National Statistics:</p><p><a href="https://www.ons.gov.uk/economy/inflationandpriceindices/timeseries/chaw/mm23" target="_blank">https://www.ons.gov.uk/economy/inflationandpriceindices/timeseries/chaw/mm23</a></p><p> </p><p>These figures are based on the following component categories:</p><p>CHAW- RPI All Items; DOCW-Rail Fares; DOCX- Bus and Coach Fares; CHBK- Motoring</p><p> </p><p>These component categories have been annualised and re-based to 1997, 2010 and 2015 for comparison to 2016. The RPI All Items index was used to calculate the real terms increases for each transport component.</p><p> </p><p>Transport cost increases from 1980 use historic ONS RPI data. This is due to RPI being re-based in 1987. Pre-1987 codes for transport components were matched to the new categories using the code descriptors, which had remained unchanged. The historic data is not published online. The real terms increase from 1980 was then calculated using the same methodology as above.</p><p> </p><p>While information prior to 1987 was provided in previous PQ responses, it was drawn from historical data which is not readily available and will no longer be provided in future.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Aviation</p><p>The costs of travelling domestically by air are based on fare data taken from the Civil Aviation Authority passenger survey. The Retail Price Index (RPI), taken from the Office for National Statistics, has been used to adjust for the real term change in the costs. A monitoring and evaluation framework was published on 19 December setting out how the Government will measure the impact that the Strategy is having on the lives of disabled people including those with non-visible disabilities such as dementia and the progress that is being made towards its 2030 goal. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/07/2018 answer text <p>Since the UK EU membership referendum in 2016, the Department for Transport has been proactively engaged in an ongoing process to assess its resourcing needs and to ensure it has sufficient capability to successfully deliver EU Exit. Within the Department, the International and Regulatory Reform Directorate lead on providing advice to Ministers on EU Exit and exit-related transport issues, while other members of staff, who principally lead on different departmental priorities, also deliver advice and analysis as required. Given the diverse interactions between EU Exit work and other priorities and the continuous review of business resourcing needs, it is difficult to define, segregate, or break-down total EU Exit resource in the Department and its executive agencies.</p><p> </p><p>However, as detailed in the National Audit Office’s recent report “Implementing the UK’s Exit from the European Union: Department for Transport”, published on 19th July 2018, at present, the central Department has 84 full-time equivalent staff who work solely on EU Exit and are in the process of recruiting 52.5 more staff to provide further support.</p><p> </p><p>The Department works closely with other Government departments to ensure a coordinated EU Exit. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/06/2018 answer text <p>This Government is investing nearly £1.5bn‎ between April 2015 and March 2021 in one of the most comprehensive global programmes of support for ultra-low emission vehicles. Our ambition is for almost every car and van to be zero emission by 2050 and to achieve this we will end the sale of new conventional petrol and diesel cars and vans by 2040. The Government’s forthcoming Road to Zero strategy will provide further detail on our ambitions and how we plan to achieve this transition.</p><p> </p><p>We want to make cycling and walking the natural choices for shorter journeys, or as part of a longer journey.
