answer text <p>National Trading Standards (NTS) and Trading Standards Scotland (TSS) do not have enforcement powers of their own but work with local authority trading standards services to take enforcement action.</p><p>The Government consulted on changes to ensure local and national enforcers work within an effective framework for protecting consumers, in the Green Paper “Modernising Consumer Markets”.
