answer text <p>Local authorities are responsible for assessing individual’s eligibility for care and support as set out in the Care Act 2014 and where the individual is eligible for financial support, for meeting those needs.</p><p>We have committed to investing an additional £5.4 billion over three years, which will allow us to begin a comprehensive programme of reform for adult social care. This includes major improvements to the wider social care system in England. We are also committed to ensuring local authorities have access to sustainable funding for core budgets at the Spending Review.</p> more like this
