answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/09/2021 answer text <p>Local authorities are responsible for assessing individual’s eligibility for care and support as set out in the Care Act 2014 and where the individual is eligible for financial support, for meeting those needs.</p><p>We have committed to investing an additional £5.4 billion over three years, which will allow us to begin a comprehensive programme of reform for adult social care. This includes major improvements to the wider social care system in England.
