Funding for social care beyond 2019-20 will be considered in the round at the Spending Review next year. The Department has not yet made any specific assessment of the County Councils Network’s analysis. However, we will work closely with the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government to consider all available evidence as part of the Spending Review process. The Green Paper will put forward our proposals for reforming the social care system to make it more sustainable. The Government has given councils access to almost £10 billion more adult social care funding from 2017-18 to 2019-20 to address the immediate pressures councils are facing.
