The latest figures show that significant progress has been made over the past year. Claims are now being cleared at five times the rate they were in January 2014. The average new claimant now only waits seven weeks for an assessment. The published and future release strategy therefore only includes this information in relation to successful claims in payment. We continually monitor all elements of the PIP process through a combination of regular operational checks, performance monitoring and ad hoc focus on particular areas as required.
