For BIS employees that are Black, Asian or other minority ethnic groups (including mixed race), the hourly rate is £20.07.</p><p> </p><p>Please note that the above figures reflect the different levels of seniority of the employees that have provided their ethnicity information. answer text <p>The Department for Education pays staff an annual salary and not an hourly rate of pay. The average gross pay of employees in the Department, split by ethnicity, is listed in Table 1 below that includes the Department’s three Executive Agencies. answer text <p /> <p>DWP is committed to equality and valuing diversity within our workforce. Our pay policies are applied equally to all staff regardless of ethnicity and we are compliant with the legislation contained in the Equality Act 2010.</p><p> </p><p>Disclosure of ethnicity, although encouraged, is voluntary within the department. At the end of February 2015 ethnicity data was held for 77% of staff working in the department.</p><p> </p><p>All our employees are salaried and information is therefore provided based on annual salary. answer text <p>The information requested is shown in the attached table.<br><br>Averages and headcount figures have been calculated against staff included in the Department headcount under the Office of National Statistics definition as of 28 February 2015. This includes all staff paid via the Department’s payroll and employed on either a permanent, fixed term or interchange basis.</p><p> </p><p>Department employees that did not provide or consent to the disclosure of their diversity information have not been included in the staff numbers or salary averages.</p><p> </p><p>Until recent reform staff below the Senior Civil Service in DCLG had contractual pay progression, this linked increases in pay to length of service and it is this factor that is likely to underpin any differences in hourly rate, length of service, rather than ethnicity itself is the causal factor.<br><br></p> more like this
