As part of this consultation we have proposed a mandatory UK-wide labelling scheme which would require producers to clearly label their packaging as ‘recyclable’ or ‘not-recyclable’. This proposal will ensure the packaging labelling scheme will be: (a) highly visible, (b) unambiguous and (c) on the front of packaging.</p><p> </p><p>The consultation closed on 13 May and we are currently analysing the responses. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/12/2018 answer text <p>Between December 2013 and 18 December 2018, 70 suspected packaging freeriders were reported to the Environment Agency by approved packaging compliance schemes.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>All reported freeriders have initially been assessed to establish a risk profile.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>64 of the 70 reported freeriders have been subject to further investigation. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/10/2018 answer text <p>All businesses involved in the export of wastes are required to take all necessary steps to ensure that the waste they ship is managed in an environmentally sound manner throughout its shipment and during its recycling.</p><p> </p><p>There is a system of international rules on waste shipments which must be followed by both UK authorities and those in the country of destination to ultimately ensure the environmentally sound management of waste.</p><p> </p><p>Only exporters accredited by the relevant agency can issue evidence of the recycling of exported packaging waste (PERNs).
