Mindfulness-based therapies are recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence as a way to treat less severe depression.</p><p> </p><p>The £200 million funding announced for digital mental health by my Rt hon. Increasing multimorbidity and complexity of conditions means it is important to ensure strategies are joined up, with care and support centred around people. A joined up Major Conditions Strategy instead of a standalone mental health strategy will ensure that mental ill health is also considered alongside other physical health conditions, meaning the interactions between them are reflected in the resulting plans. We know that many of the risk factors that contribute to mental ill-health are cross-society in nature, and we will therefore be working closely with departments across Government.</p><p>We are grateful to everyone who responded to our mental health call for evidence. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/04/2023 answer text <p>The Department is conducting a rapid review, chaired by Dr Geraldine Strathdee, into patient safety in mental health inpatient services, which is anticipated to last for approximately two to three months. The review will focus on what data and evidence is currently available to the healthcare system, including information provided by patients and families, and how this data and evidence can be used more effectively to identify patient safety risks and failures in care.</p><p>NHS England has also established a three-year quality improvement programme which seeks to tackle the root causes of unsafe, poor-quality inpatient care in mental health, learning disability and autism settings. The Strategy will cover prevention and treatment for all six conditions and we will continue to work closely with stakeholders, citizens and the National Health Service in coming weeks to identify actions that will have the most impact. Bringing mental ill health and other conditions together will enable us to take a holistic approach, recognising the increasing multimorbidity and complexity of diseases.</p><p>In response to the Mental Health and Well-Being call for evidence, we received over 5,000 responses from individuals and organisations representing a range of different views and groups.
