answer text <p>My officials continue to engage with the Ayrshire Partners to refine the Deal proposals and met with the Head of the Ayrshire Growth Deal Team in Kilmarnock on Thursday 6 September where progress with individual projects and the Deal timeline were discussed.</p><p> </p><p>The UK Government began formal negotiations with the three Ayrshire Councils following an announcement by the Prime Minister on 29 March 2018.</p> more like this

answer text <p>I have met on a number of occasions with the Ayrshire Partners, stakeholders and locally elected representatives to progress the proposed Ayrshire Growth Deal. On the 12<sup>th</sup> of January I met with Council Chief Executives and leaders of the proposed Ayrshire Growth deal to discuss ways to support the future growth of Ayrshire’s economy.</p><p> </p><p>My officials continue to engage with UK Government Departments across Whitehall, the Scottish Government and the Ayrshire partners to further develop their proposition.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The proposed Ayrshire Growth Deal is backed by the three Ayrshire local authorities, namely East Ayrshire Council, North Ayrshire Council and South Ayrshire Council; as well as the Ayrshire Economic Partnership, which includes representatives from Scottish Enterprise, Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry and individual business leaders working alongside the three local authorities.</p><p>As part of wider government discussions I met Patrick Wiggins, the Director of the Ayrshire Growth Deal, on 14 November 2017.</p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>I have had a range of meetings with business and local representatives about supporting economic growth in Ayrshire, covering individual projects within a proposed Ayrshire Growth Deal and looking at how the UK’s Industrial Strategy will deliver for Ayrshire.</p><p> </p><p>In a significant step, on 9 August I was pleased to announce £3.5 million UK government investment to support the HALO project in Kilmarnock. This is a vital project that will strengthen Ayrshire’s economic prospects, create nearly 1000 jobs and benefit local businesses and residents.</p> more like this
