answer text <p>The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and the Department for Business and Trade are currently consulting on the proposal to end core funding of Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs).</p><p>Consultation questionnaires were sent to all LEP chairs, combined authority mayors, local authority leaders and key stakeholder representatives. The consultation period will end on 19 May 2023 and the Government will set out a response due course.</p><p>As part of the exercise, virtual roundtable discussions have also taken place with umbrella organisations and LEPs on a range of topics.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) performance is monitored through an annual assurance process and regular reporting. LEPs are required to participate in relevant Local Authority scrutiny arrangements to guarantee the effective and appropriate scrutiny of their investment decisions.</p><p> </p><p>LEPs must also publish Delivery Plans and End of Year Reports, which set out details of the contributions they are making to promote economic growth in their areas.</p><p> </p><p>Alongside the Budget, the Government committed to working with local businesses on the future role of Local Enterprise Partnerships.</p> more like this
