answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/11/2014 answer text <p>The NHS patient, visitor and staff car parking principles, published on 23 August 2014, ask NHS hospitals to publish:</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>- their parking policy;</p><p> </p><p>- their implementation of the NHS car parking principles;</p><p> </p><p>- financial information relating to their car parking arrangements; and</p><p> </p><p>- summarised complaint information on car parking and actions taken in response.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We expect this information to be displayed prominently on trust websites so that patients and the public can hold the NHS locally to account where unfair parking charges and practices remain in place.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>In addition, NHS England will collect information about NHS compliance via the annual Patient Led Assessments of the Care Environment. These principles, widely welcomed by a range of charities and organisations representing patients’ interests, made it clear that NHS trusts should provide concessions, including free or reduced charges or caps, to the following groups:</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>- people with disabilities;</p><p> </p><p>- frequent outpatient attenders;</p><p> </p><p>- visitors with relatives who are gravely ill;</p><p> </p><p>- visitors to relatives who have an extended stay in hospital; and</p><p> </p><p>- staff working shifts that mean public transport cannot be used.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Therefore, families of long-term hospital patients should be able to take advantage of the concessions for visitors to relatives who have an extended stay in hospital.</p><p> </p> answering member constituency Central Suffolk and North Ipswich answering member printed Dr Daniel Poulter question first answered 05/11/2014 15:02:31 answering member 3932 label Biography information for Dr Dan Poulter
