answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/02/2017 answer text <p>The Government announced their preferred HS2 route in South Yorkshire on 15 November in <em>High Speed Two: from Crewe to Manchester, the West Midlands to Leeds and beyond</em> (Cm 9355). Our proposal is that HS2 should serve Sheffield city centre through a spur off the proposed HS2 line, enabling HS2 trains to run into Sheffield along the existing rail network. This proposal is currently subject to public consultation.</p><p> </p><p>In the process of making a final decision about the HS2 route in South Yorkshire the Government will take into account work that HS2 Ltd will have carried out, both in the past and more recently, into alternative routes to both the Meadowhall and M18 route.</p> answering member constituency Harrogate and Knaresborough answering member printed Andrew Jones question first answered 01/02/2017 14:18:22 answering member 3996 label Biography information for Andrew Jones
