answer text <p>The Northern Ireland Office works closely with Tourism NI and the rest of Northern Ireland government departments to ensure that the work to highlight Northern Ireland as a great place to invest provides them with the support that they want. I am a former Tourism Minister myself, and the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland regularly promotes inward investment to Northern Ireland, such as on her visit to the United States in September of last year.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Northern Ireland has proven itself to be a top destination for foreign direct investment, with over 900 international companies investing in Northern Ireland.</p><p> </p><p>The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland and I regularly champion new investment announcements in Northern Ireland, which show that Northern Ireland continues to be a great place to invest and do business, and the Secretary of State was present at the announcement by PA Consulting that they will be creating 400 new jobs in Belfast over the next five years.</p><p> </p><p>We are working to restore a stable, devolved government which can work with the UK Government to maximise Northern Ireland’s attractiveness to overseas investors.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Department for International Trade (DIT) is a department for the whole of the UK. It supports exports from, and encourages investment to England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland - with the purpose of ensuring the benefits of trade and investment are spread across the whole of the UK.</p><p>DIT works closely with Invest Northern Ireland (INI) to support FDI into Northern Ireland, and to enable INI's expansion into 10 new markets this year. Of the 10 new overseas offices that INI have established, 8 are co located at British diplomatic missions abroad.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The established relationship between UKTI and Invest Northern Ireland (INI) enables both to support each other’s efforts to achieve the shared ambition to increase trade and investment and in turn jobs and growth, this includes regular engagement at Ministerial, Chief Executive, and operational levels.</p><p> </p><p>For example, over the last month Lord Maude visited Northern Ireland on 28<sup>th</sup> and 29<sup>th</sup> January, including both a meeting with the Chief Executive of INI and a number of company meetings. answer text <p>The Regeneration Investment Organisation (RIO) is actively working on several investment opportunities in Northern Ireland with a gross development value of around £3 billion. The team has held commercial dialogue with overseas investors for some of these schemes.</p><p>The RIO team has a dedicated Regional Project Manager who engages with development opportunities in Northern Ireland, works closely with Invest Northern Ireland and helps projects advance to a stage where they would be able to attract overseas investment.</p><p>There is also official representation from Northern Ireland on the Regeneration Investment Advisory Board (RIAB), a group consisting of Industry and Government specialists set up to provide strategic advice and oversight of RIO activity.</p> more like this
