answer text <p>Last year saw an increase of 238,000 disabled people in work. The employment rate is now 46.3% - up 2.1% from last year. Our Disability Confident Campaign is ensuring that employers understand the benefits of employing disabled people. And our programmes, like Work Choice and Access to Work, are supporting disabled people into work. We will continue build on this success.</p> more like this

We are launching Specialist Employability Support to provide intensive back to work support for more disabled people. answer text <p>The disability employment rate gap is the difference between the employment rate of disabled people and the employment rate of non-disabled people.</p><p> </p><p>One way to measure the gap is using the Labour Force Survey (LFS). The latest data available from the LFS relates to January 2015 to March 2015. The latest LFS figures are set out in the table below. This table shows the disability employment rate gap along with the disability employment rate gaps for people who have difficulty in hearing and those who have difficulty in seeing. answer text <p>In the last 12 months there has been an increase of 238,000 disabled people in work. That is really positive, but there is more to do.</p><p> </p><p>We have been very clear that the gap between the employment rates of disabled people and non-disabled people remains too big and have committed to halving it.</p><p> </p><p>Government cannot achieve this ambition alone so we are working closely with disabled people, their organisations, employers and employment support providers to develop our strategy to enable more disabled people to get into, remain in and progress in work.</p><p> </p><p>The Disability Confident Campaign, which actively promotes the Access to Work scheme, is key to supporting employers in working with Government to halve the disability employment gap.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government confirmed in March 2012 that it accepted the recommendations in the Sayce Review, to focus resources on tailored personalised support for individuals through services like Access to Work, rather than “one size fits all” institutions and programmes, so that we can significantly increase the number of disabled people that could be supported to access the labour market. The Sayce recommendations on Remploy have been implemented.</p><p> </p><p>The Written Statement on Access to Work published on 12th March sets out proposals to address two key recommendations of Liz Sayce with respect to developing online functionality and personal budgets.</p> more like this
