answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/06/2022 answer text <p>While the government fully recognises the benefits of international educational opportunities, the government has decided that it was not in the UK's interests to seek continuing participation in the Erasmus+ programme.</p><p>Under the Withdrawal Agreement negotiated with the EU, the UK will continue to participate fully in the 2014-2020 Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programmes. This means that the projects successfully bid for during the current programmes will continue to receive EU funding for the full duration of the project, where certain projects may continue up to 2024.</p><p>The UK has introduced the Turing Scheme, a new international mobility scheme that has a global reach. The Turing Scheme provides funding for UK education providers and organisations in the schools, higher education, further education, vocational education, and training sectors to offer international opportunities across the world for their pupils, students, and learners. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/07/2016 answer text <p>Other European Economic Area (EEA) countries and Switzerland reimburse the United Kingdom for the cost of the National Health Service providing treatment to people they are responsible for under European Union law, including UK nationals insured in another EEA country or Switzerland. In the same way, the Department, on behalf of the UK Government, reimburses other EEA countries and Switzerland for the cost of providing healthcare treatment to people we are responsible for under EU law, irrespective of nationality.</p><p> </p><p>As insurability under EU law is not determined on the basis of nationality, it is not possible to provide information on the number of citizens from each country covered by these rules.</p><p> </p><p>Payment arrangements from the UK to France, Spain and Ireland are as follows:</p><p> </p><p>France:</p><p>- All categories of insured persons: Actual costs (meaning the UK is billed for actual healthcare usage)</p><p>Spain:</p><p>- Temporary Visitors: Actual costs</p><p>- All other categories: Average costs (a lump sum is billed, irrespective of the amount of healthcare received)</p><p>Ireland:</p><p>- Temporary Visitors (not including planned treatment claims or workers): Formula agreement</p><p>- Planned Treatment claims: Actual costs</p><p>- Workers: Waiver agreement between the two countries</p><p>- All other categories: Average costs</p><p> </p><p>The decision on whether to bill on the basis of average costs is for individual EEA countries to make.</p> answering member printed Lord Prior of Brampton grouped question UIN HL914 question first answered 11/07/2016 12:42:11 answering member 127 label Biography information for Lord Prior of Brampton

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/12/2014 answer text <p>The Government recognises that school links and exchanges can provide valuable opportunities to learn about other countries and to improve language skills. It is, however, for individual schools to decide whether or not they wish to participate in such exchanges.</p><p> </p><p>For those who do, there are many opportunities available, for example through the British Council’s Connecting Classrooms programme, the Global Learning Programme, which is jointly funded by the Department for International Development and the British Council, and the EU’s Erasmus + programme.
