answer text <p>I have personally expressed the importance of ensuring staff felt able to voice concerns at a DE&amp;S “Town Hall” meeting in November 2023.</p><p>As well as speaking to their management chain, staff have a number of formal and informal routes to raise behaviour which falls outside our values, including the MOD Helpline, the Employee Assistance Programme and in-house mediation service.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>As of 31 March 2023, Defence Equipment and Support (DE&amp;S) employed 11,972 permanent staff.</p><p> </p><p>Figures for permanent staff include both civilian and military personnel. In addition, 1,107 contractors are employed as Contingent Labour which is used to fill funded posts within DE&amp;S on a short-term basis.</p><p> </p><p>Contractors are also engaged to provide Private Sector Support (PSS), which is defined by DE&amp;S as external support to supplement DE&amp;S capacity and capability to manage its programme of work. It may also include support to business improvement and change programmes.
