answer text <table><tbody><tr><td><p>As at 30 June 2023, there were (a) 113 Asscociate Prosecutors and (b) 235 Crown Prosecutors employed by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). In total, there were 3304 people employed by the CPS as proseuctors on 30 June 2023, with 3040 in post for at least 12 months. The CPS manages its workforce data systems separately from its prosecution casework and the response would require disproportionate and significant manual input. <em>*Data extracted is accurate at point of enquiry on 18 July 2023. Consequent changes to data input may mean that this data will change at some point in the future.</em></p></td></tr></tbody></table> more like this

Whereas the table in answer to Question 139145 gave a breakdown and not a grand total. In addition to the 2,389 prosecutors in that table are Crown Advocates; Associate Prosecutors; and qualified and experienced prosecutors in corporate roles such as legal trainers. Further, as stated in answer to Question 163750, consequential changes to data input may mean that the data will change at some point in the future.</p></td></tr></tbody></table> more like this
