answer text <p>The dormant assets scheme has already distributed over £600m for the benefit of good causes. The Dormant Assets Commission, which reported on the feasibility of expanding the scheme in 2017, estimated that there may be up to £2bn of additional dormant assets that could be transferred into the scheme. This could significantly increase the quantity of funds available for good causes across the country.</p><p> </p><p>Building on the work of the Commission, and supported by HMT and DCMS, four senior industry leaders published a blueprint in April 2019 for broadening the scheme to include assets from the insurance and pensions, investment and wealth management, and securities sectors. Quantifying dormancy was not within the scope of this work.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Local Sustainability Fund supported around 260 small and medium size charities and social enterprises to strengthen their organisations and help secure the future of their services. Grant holders project’s came to an end in June 2017. The total spend was £18.7 million.</p><p> </p><p>An evaluation was published in January 2018, which found that 94% of recipients reported improvement in the ‘strength, sustainability and resilience’ of their organisation. Improvements were reported in a range of areas including governance and leadership, strategic thinking and planning, income diversification and confidence and self-belief.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Charities and voluntary organisations are receiving funding from Government through a number of programmes. This includes unlocking £360m for good causes from dormant bank accounts. Other examples include investing £32m so far in disadvantaged women and girls via the Tampon Tax Fund and £40m in youth organisations through the Youth Investment and #iwill Funds.</p><p> </p><p>Government is also taking steps to open up new opportunities for charities and voluntary organisations' to play a role in public services. Efforts include recruiting a Crown Representative for the sector and ongoing Commissioning Academy programmes.</p> more like this
