Ministers have a specific responsibility, which Parliament has endorsed, to be careful not to release information that would undermine our negotiating position. We want to secure the best possible outcome for UK industry in upcoming negotiations – a partnership underpinned by high standards, a practical approach to regulation and the greatest possible access to European markets. We will continue to engage with UK industry to shape our negotiating position.
