answer text <p>Innovate UK, the UK’s innovation agency, is continuing its mission to challenge the disproportionately low numbers of women entrepreneurs in the UK through its inaugural ‘infocus – Women in Innovation’ competition.</p><p> </p><p>Launched in May 2016, the nationwide competition aimed to increase the number of women led applications for Innovate UK funding opportunities. Each winner was awarded £50,000, a tailored business support package and was paired with a business mentor. The winners of the first competition were announced in November 2016.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The 2016 Queen’s Awards for Enterprise saw 254 awards presented. 249 Awards were presented to companies in the categories of International Trade, Innovation and Sustainable Development. 5 Awards were presented to individuals for Enterprise Promotion, 3 of which were presented to women, equating to 60% of the 2016 Enterprise Promotion category Awards.</p><p>The Enterprise Britain Awards are open to public sector organisations rather than individuals so gender statistics are not available.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>UK Export Finance (UKEF) is open to applications for its support from all UK companies looking to export and is raising awareness of its offer among businesses in all sectors and in all regions of the UK. UKEF does not currently collect information on the gender of staff in leadership positions for the companies that it supports.</p><p> </p><p>Where such information is not commercially sensitive, the companies supported by UKEF since 2009-2010 are listed in its Annual Report and Accounts which are presented to Parliament.</p> more like this
