answer text <p>From 2025, the Future Homes Standard will mean that new homes use low carbon heating and have very high levels of energy efficiency.</p><p>We intend to consult on the technical specification of the Future Homes Standard later this year and so further information will be coming forward on the consultation in due course. From a principles perspective, building regulations tend to set performance-based standards over the mandating or banning the use of specific technologies, to enable innovation and tailoring to individual sites.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government is working with industry, regulators and others to assess the feasibility, costs and benefits of 100% hydrogen for heat decarbonisation.</p><p> </p><p>In the meantime, the Government has set out plans to consult on proposals to require that all new domestic gas boilers are hydrogen-ready from 2026.</p><p> </p><p>The Clean Heat Market Mechanism would not be a suitable or necessary scheme to support the roll-out of hydrogen-ready boilers and the Government has set out that the scheme’s focus will be on supporting the development of the market for low-carbon heat pumps.</p> more like this
