answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/07/2020 answer text <p>The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) will resume its statutory obligations to survey and inspect domestic passenger boats in the UK, including those operating on the Thames, on 20 July and will use a risk-based approach.</p><p> </p><p>The details of the plans for resumption of these activities were made available to the maritime industry on 6 July.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The MCA has no plans to (a) reduce or (b) remove the fees for statutory inspections and surveys that their Marine Surveyors perform on passenger boats.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The Government has announced an unprecedented package of financial measures worth £350 billion to support companies of all sizes through the COVID-19 pandemic. It is not normal practice for the Government to compensate individuals or companies for changes brought about by enhancements in safety legislation. To do so would set a challenging precedent.</p><p>I have asked that the MCA look to achieve a fair balance between proportionality for operators and public safety. Consultees were invited to comment on the validity of the analysis in the IA and encouraged to provide information that would help to strengthen this. Anyone who subscribes to notifications of MCA consultations via the “Policy Papers and Consultations” page of GOV.UK will be notified of this and other consultations issued by the MCA, by email alert or RSS feed depending on their selection.</p><p> </p><p>Additionally, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) will promulgate the consultation through the main industry safety groups, and other interested parties whose details are held on a notification list for domestic passenger vessels subject matter. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/04/2019 answer text <p>Both (a) the Port of London Authority (PLA) and (b) Transport for London (TfL) were notified of publication of the first public consultation package on the proposals to implement the outcome of the review into standards for older passenger ships, which included a draft Impact Assessment (IA).</p><p> </p><p>Consultees were invited to comment on the validity of the analysis in the IA and encouraged to provide information that would help to strengthen this. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/04/2019 answer text <p>The Environment Agency’s (EA) boat registration charge proposals for 2019-2021 were approved by Ministers in October 2018, before the Maritime and Coastguard Agency published its consultation on proposed amendments to the technical requirements applicable to UK domestic passenger vessels.</p><p> </p><p>EA charge proposals from 2021 will be subject to a full public consultation and also a business impact target assessment.
