answer text <p>On 30th April, the Department for Transport laid The Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2019 (S.I. 2019 No. 891). The changes being introduced under the expanded Blue Badge eligibility criteria for non-physical disabilities will come into force on 30th August 2019. <br> <br> The Department for Transport is currently finalising the guidance necessary for local authorities to assess the new types of applications, which it plans to publish shortly.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>The Department for Transport has consulted with the following disability groups Alzheimer’s UK, Disabled Motoring, Scope, Down’s Syndrome Association, Dementia UK, National Autistic Society, Mencap, Parkinson’s UK Anxiety UK and Crohns &amp; Colitis.</p><p>The Department hopes to lay these new regulations in Parliament in April 2019, and they will specify when these changes will come into force.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Department for Transport has taken a number of steps, including: making it easier to withdraw a badge for reasons of misuse; providing local authorities with powers to seize badges on-street; introducing fraud resistant badges; and establishing a single national database of all badges that can be accessed by on-street enforcement officers to identify genuine badge holders.</p><p> </p><p>The Department is also working with local authorities to share examples of best practice enforcement measures.</p> more like this
