Through Future Soldier, the Army will have a whole force of over 100,000 comprising of 73,000 Regular Service Personnel and 30,100 Army Reserve.</p><p>The Army is re-organising and re-equipping to face future threats, however, as the Secretary of State has stated, as the threat changes, we need to change with it. The British Army will be more integrated and active, with a whole force of over 100,000 regulars and reservists, to address the current and future threats from across the globe.</p><p>Whilst the regular Army reorganises to its new structure of 73,000, naturally this will result in workforce cost savings. This reduction has been estimated to present £3.9 billion in savings over the 10 years following the financial year 2021-22. We have published a report in parallel with an NAO investigation, in each year since, to provide Parliament and the public with information about the Defence programme. This includes a summary of the Equipment Plan of each Front Line Command presented in a standardised format. As part of their annual investigation, the NAO speak to each of the Front Line Commands and review their financial position. All Front Line Commands use the same financial management system and report their financial position using a consistent methodology.
