answer text <p>The Farming Innovation Programme is being funded from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs’ existing budgets set at Spending Review 2021. As there are no changes to UK Government departmental funding associated with the Farming Innovation Programme, there are no further Barnett consequentials on top of the Spending Review settlement in line with the normal application of the Barnett formula.</p><p> </p><p>The Northern Ireland Executive received a record settlement at Spending Review 2021. On top of this record settlement, the Northern Ireland Executive also benefit from nearly£1 billion of ringfenced UK Government funding for agricultural projects in Northern Ireland throughout the Spending Review 2021 period.</p> more like this

answer text <p>UK Government Ministers meet regularly to discuss the Northern Ireland Protocol, including the impact to Northern Ireland’s agriculture sector. There are serious issues with how the Northern Ireland Protocol is currently operating. We are determined to resolve these issues, preferably through talks and negotiations or, if need be, via legislation. Defra officials also meet frequently with organisations from the whole Northern Ireland agri-food supply chain, including Northern Ireland farmers.</p> more like this
