<p>The Syrian Vulnerable Persons' Relocation scheme was launched in January 2014 and
is the first resettlement programme in the UK to target support for refugees specifically
on the basis of their vulnerability. It is helping those in the greatest need, including
people requiring urgent medical treatment, survivors of violence and torture, and
women and children at risk.</p><p>Since the first arrivals in March 2014, 216 individuals
have been resettled in the United Kingdom. Statistics on arrivals under the scheme
are published through our official statistics at quarterly intervals and include numbers
to the year ending June 2015. These will be available from: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/immigration-statistics-quarterly-release"

to the end of August 2015, the Home Office’s expenditure on the Vulnerable Persons’
