<p>In October 2019, the government published the first ‘State of the Nation’ report
on children and young people’s mental wellbeing, to improve understanding of the trends
and issues that influence young people’s wellbeing. This report drew on a number of
existing, large-scale, sample surveys.</p><p>The government plans to provide advice
for schools later this year to help them to access evidence-based tools to measure
and support their pupils’ mental wellbeing. This advice is intended to be used voluntarily
by schools and will not include a requirement to report back to the government.</p>
