<p>The future availability of any new or novel treatments on the National Health Service
would be subject to large scale clinical trials demonstrating the safety and efficacy
of the treatment approach and subsequent assessments of its cost effectiveness for
routine use.</p><p>NHS England welcomes the development of new technologies that have
the potential to improve clinical outcomes and has established a national process
to enable decisions to be made about whether such technologies should be routinely
available to patients in England. The document at the following link sets out the
process, including how to submit new proposals, which would be the next step in relation
