<p>Providers are expected to facilitate such visits wherever possible, in a way which manages infection risks. Based on national principles, visiting policies are at the discretion of National Health Service trusts and other NHS bodies which will make an assessment of appropriate visiting arrangements, given the local prevalence of COVID-19 and the design of facilities. Providers are encouraged to ensure visiting can take place and patients may be accompanied where appropriate and necessary to meet their health needs.</p>
